WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR LASER THERAPY [LOW LEVEL LASER THERAPY] FOR HAIR LOSS?
- Alopecia Areata: It is an autoimmune condition which presents as smooth patchy loss of hair.
- Telogen Effluvium: It is due to many factors like acute severe illness, surgery, thyroid diseases, malnutrition, stress, chronic illness, and medicines e.g. oral contraceptive pills [OCP], lithium, cimetidine etc.
- Chemo-Therapy Induced Hair Loss: After aggressive chemotherapy sessions during cancer treatment.
- Postpartum Alopecia: This occurs after delivery
In laser treatment for hair loss, laser comb emits beams and attached combs help to part the hairs and improve delivery of laser light to scalp. The laser treatment procedure for hair loss is given for 15 minutes per day, three times a week for several weeks.
